Worship July 2021 onwards

July 2021

Yesterday, 20 July, the Diocese of Manchester updated its Covid guidelines to all parishes. Point 10 of the notification states: "Bishop David has now withdrawn his permission for clergy to preside at a Eucharist without any congregation present in person. This takes immediate effect.” As such, and in line with this clear guidance, the Zoom service can no longer be a Eucharist.
The Eucharist will be celebrated in church at 10am on Sunday and 10am on Wednesday, and all are welcome.
* There is no need to book in advance (although as we haven't got an offertory procession at the moment it will help us greatly if you could let us know you are coming so we can consecrate enough hosts in the ciborium). Phone 07910153846 before 6pm on a Friday evening before the Sunday you wish to attend. (No booking needed for Wednesday morning service.)
* We are now using alternate pews, any pew with a dove on is available.
* We are asking everyone to sanitise on the way in to church.
* We are still asking everyone to track and trace
* We are still asking everyone to wear face masks. We believe strongly that it is our Christian duty to protect one another as much as possible.
* The clergy will maintain the same hygiene standards that have been used throughout the pandemic.
* We will get back to singing, just not yet. But Andy and Elaine's wonderful music adds to the beauty of the liturgy even without singing.
* There will be a Zoom service on Sunday, but it will not be a Eucharist.

If you have any parish giving envelopes that you've been saving up for your return to church, give us a call. And above all, please keep praying for each other so that we are all upheld in the love of God and may know Christ's peace.

We have a full risk assessment in place which can be viewed in church or via a request to admin@stmarysdavyhulme.org

We advise that face masks must be worn by all those attending a place of worship except for those with specific exceptions.

In addition, we will still be holding a Zoom Eucharist at 9am every Sunday, the access codes for which will continue to be posted on the private Facebook page on the Saturday prior to the Sunday service.

Please view the details of how you may attend in the letters below, which we would ask you to read carefully.
