St. Mary’s has separate War Memorials for the two World Wars
Second World War (1939 - 1945) War Memorial
The sacrifice of the men from St. Mary’s parish who died in the second world war was commemorated by the building of the choir vestry on the north side of the church which was opened in 1952. The vestry cost £3,200.
The names of the twenty two men from St. Mary’s parish who were killed are commemorated on a wooden plaque inside the choir vestry.
The following inscriptions appear on this war memorial.
