Electoral Roll

What is the Church Electoral Roll? Why have one?
It is our parish church’s register of our church members; it is the list of those qualified to attend and to vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting where the elections take place for :-
1. the parochial church council (P.C.C.)
2. the parish’s representatives on the deanery synod.

Any person entitled to attend the Annual Parochial Church Meeting may raise any question of parochial or general church interest. Complete renewal of the electoral roll took place in 2015 and subsequently after every six years.
By enrolling you become a voting member of the Church of England, this system enables church people at every level to be in touch with the Church as a whole and to play their part in decision making.
This system is ensures that the laity have their place in every aspect of church.

Under the Church Representation Rules any persons are entitled to have their names entered on the roll if they—
1. are baptised and aged 16 or over;
2. have signed a form of application for enrolment;
  and either
3. are members of the Church of England or of any Church in communion with the Church of England being resident in the parish or (not being resident in the parish) having habitually attended public worship in the parish during the six months prior to the application for enrolment;
