Churchwomen's Fellowship

The inaugural meeting of St Mary's Churchwomen's Fellowship was held on 13 February 1947. Although a comparatively small group (membership has never risen above 25) its aim remains the same as when it was formed: to be of service to the church, to promote Christian fellowship and to meet socially.

Meeting on the first Thursday afternoon in the month, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. in the choir vestry,  the Churchwomen's Fellowship  tends to attract mainly ladies who are retired. This is in complete contrast from when it was first formed for the benefit of young ladies in the congregation (several of whom taught in the Sunday School), who at that time because of their single status were not eligible to join the Mothers' Union.

Visitors - male or female - are very welcome to come along anytime if a particular speaker or topic attracts their attention.  Notes on the forthcoming programme appear in the church magazine each month. Should they subsequently decide to become members we should be even more delighted.
