ERIC TWEEDALE
21st April 1897 – 1st July 1916
Eric was born in Eccles on 21st April 1897.
His parents were William Henry born 1856 in Failsworth, who was a Waste Dealer and Emma Campbell born 1861 in Manchester.
Emma died in 1937 and is buried in Southern Cemetery. William died in 1942, he was living in Blackpool .
Eric had 2 siblings:
Harry Alaska 1883 -1964
Vera 1903 -1988
In 1901 Eric was living at Clifton Road Eccles,he had moved to 4 Lostock Road by 1911.
William was in the 13th Bn attd 16th Bn of The West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales Own)
He was Killed in Action on the 1st July 1916 in France or Belgium.
He is buried at De La Somme Picardie.
He was awarded the Victory, British and 15 Star.
He is remembered with Honour on The Thiepval Memorial.
