01-Incumbents - WW 2

There was one Incumbent (Vicar) of St Mary the Virgin - Davyhulme during World War 2 - Frank Wilkinson Rideal L.TH. 1932-1945.

Frank was born in Collyhurst on 18th February 1888, he was baptised at the Albert Memorial Church, Collyhurst on April 1st 1888.

He attended St Oswalds School and Durham University where he received an MA in 1918.

He was ordained as a Deacon at Manchester Cathedral in 1914. Frank served as a Chaplain to the forces during WW1.

Frank married Grace Newham in April 1916 At The Holy Trinity Church, Blackley. In 1932 he became the fifth Vicar of St Mary’s Davyhulme.

He died on October 11th 1977 and is buried at St Trillo Church, Rhos-on-Sea
